We covered two temples in the evening - Thirumanancheri and Thirumangalakudi. It is believed that if unmarried men and women offer their prayers at this Temple, they would get married soon. So, my parents had taken a very innocent "me" to the temples to pray for my early marriage.
I swear I had no idea this was why we were visiting these Temples. :-)
Our first stop was Thirumanancheri. As in other cases, the route was scenic and lovely.
At Thirumanancheri, we had to park the car a long way off from the Temple owing to traffic congestion. We walked the rest of the way to Temple. A self-proclaimed local guide pointed to us the route to the Temple. While we walked, we had no idea that this guy was trailing us. When we reached the temple, we stopped at a flower shop to get pooja items. We then realized that Mr. Self Proclaimed Guide owned a flower shop there too. He picked up a fight with the shopowner of the shop and said that we are his customers as he brought us here. Weirdo!
Inside the Temple, there was a pooja done for all the prospective brides and grooms. We had to sit in a long queue with a garland around my neck while the pooja was being performed.
After the pooja, we were given instructions on how to worship the Lord till we get married. :-)
Thirumanancheri over, we proceeded to Thirumangalakudi. This Temple was not crowded as the earlier one. It was vast and empty. A peace pervaded the atmosphere inside the Temple. We performed our pooja and came out of the Temple.
The sojourn over, we the tired but happy lot proceeded back to Mayavaram.

U know what my parents did the same thing to me! When I was 23 they took an innocent me to the same temple (I also had a big tour but some other temples). Though I dont believe in these things much I cant believe that I got married very soon after this temple visit.
So when are you gonna get married :-))))))?
Just kidding yaar? I never knew that this was a reason for parents to take their children especially girls to temples.
So i now realise why i find so many girls with their parents at the temple.

ha ha ha..yes, my parents took me to thiruvidandhai kovil...still not married but just went there so i would not hurt their sentiments. its been more than a year now...

Hi I am planning to visit this temple over weekend. I heard lot of people get married after performing parihara here. Can some one share your experience on after visiting this temple
yeah, i have read a lot about thiruvidandhai temple (nithya kalyana perumal)
naturally, you need to be sincere in your prayers there, and also perform a procedure (u have to wear a garland and take 9 pradakshanams around the temple)
after that, you need to preserve the garland and then come back with it and ur spouse after you are married (which will be very soon)
i read that the meaning of kalyanam is merging together, the god at thirumananceri swami. kalyana sundarar, blesses to merge, that is the jeevathmaa with the paramaathma, the individual soul with the supreme soul, for those who believes this, if we see the god's posture at the ideal we could guess, he gives up his hand to sakthi, means we r d sakthi, sakthi means energy, energy can be tranformed from one form to another and nor b created neither b destroyed, thats wat d same case to this soul, transforms to a higher level, he gives up his hand for our upliftment and enlightment, and the temple is not only meant for d in scene the cultural drama called marriage, the true meaning is merge of souls, it has proven to the society through marriages.... forgive me if any of the word has gone wrong in the frame of your blog.. wishes 4 a great career
What if you loose the garland somewhere and don't go back with your spouse?
Visited the same in last week of may. Still did not get married. :(
